JULIE BORGERS

Founder

Biography

Julie is the founder of WMNride, a project which has grown together with her passion for cycling over the past two years. Holding a PhD degree in sports management, Julie is eager to apply her understanding of the sports market to promoting the sports she loves the most.

After starting the WMNride concept in Brussels, she has the ambition to make the women cycling community grow by connecting riders from different places. Next to this project, she works at the tennis federation and keeps training to pursue her personal goals in amateur cycling challenges. She has a short but successful record in Granfondo racing with some recent victories (Cape Town Cycle Tour, GF Schleck, GF Etalle), podium positions (GF La Fausto Coppi, GF Rome) and a 10th place at the 2019 UCI GF World Championships. With a strong passion for cycling, travel and community building, Julie wants to encourage other people to start riding a bike and push their own boundaries.
